Black Mission Fig is one of the most popular figs in cultivation. It produces an abundance of large, deep purple skinned fruit, with pinkish-red flesh. This fruit is delicious, with a distinct flavor, whether eaten fresh or dried. The first harvest is heavy, occurring in early summer, with its main crop in the fall. It doesn’t require pollination or another plant to produce fruit. The tree grows 20 to 40 ft. tall, but can be pruned back as a bush.
