One of the most popular trees for desert and water-wise landscapes, the Blue Palo Verde has a vibrant mix of yellow-green foliage, bright yellow blooms, and blue-green bark. Its small leaves grow and drop throughout the year. Large pods produce edible seeds, which have been a food source for man and animals for centuries in the Southwest. The yellow flowers, with red-orange spots, appear in early spring on its large, drooping branches.

This is a highly durable and drought-tolerant tree that provides protection for other native plants, attracts pollinators and birds. The tree grows to 40 feet at maturity. Its name means green stick in Spanish.
