Also known as the pineapple palm, this tree makes a dramatic statement with a distinctive diamond shaped pattern on its trunk, graceful leaves that grow from 10-15 feet long, and a massive height of 30-40 feet. The bottom of its crown, or nut, has a pineapple shape. Three foot stalks product small yellow to orange flowers and the date fruit is orange when ripe, though not particularly desirable.
