Deer grass, which grows from 2 to 4 ft. tall and wide, is a clumping, ornamental grass that provides a perfect soft contrast to harder elements, like rocks and pavers, in your desert landscape.  This grass thrives in full sun and has very low water requirements. Tall, wheat -colored flower spikes appear in the fall, towering above the dense green foliage. Deer grass can be used as an accent plant, or in borders and transition areas.
