Gorilla hair is a shredded redwood product. It is soft and doesn't have splinter issues. Generally we use this in garden beds for dark color. It also helps generate nitrogen in the soil, keep the plants healthy, and leads to better (darker) soil as it breaks down. Because it is shredded it tends to hang on to itself, creating a mat, and not moving/blowing much.
