This evergreen produces a low, dense mass of trailing branches that root as they touch the ground. The stems are covered with shiny green leaves, which have a purple glow in the fall, when stunning red berries appear. This is a fast-spreading evergreen that needs lots of room to grow and will easily cover a large area with full sun. It well suited as ground cover, an edging, in rock gardens, along foundations, or cascading over banks and walls.
