Originally used primarily as a houseplant, this decorative and fragrant tree is now prized in many gardens, and in container gardening where the plant can be moved to the best suited areas during the year. It grows from 6 to 10 feet tall with dark green, shiny leaves and white, fragrant flowers with a purple base. These trees produce medium sized fruit, which is sweeter and less acidic than regular lemons, throughout the year – sometimes thousands during a lifetime. The majority of the crop is harvested in winter.
