This fast-growing, ornamental plant displays large, exotic, fragrant lavender flowers on tall stems. Its leaves are long, narrow, strap-like, and have a strong garlic scent. The leaves, which can be used to season soups and salads, are variegated – silvery-green with white edges – giving the plant a light airy feel. The plant’s showy flowers have a lovely fragrance and they appear off and on all year, especially from June to September, attracting bees, butterflies, and birds.
