Tall, narrow, sword-shaped evergreen leaves of this iris spread out in fan-shaped clumps, producing a grass-like effect that is enjoyable even when not in bloom.  This is fast growing and drought resistant plant, with tall flower stalks that bloom from spring to fall and intermittently through the winter. Flowers last for only one day, but since each stalk holds an ample supply of buds, the pale yellow blooms, touched with orange and brown, are quickly replaced to keep them coming.
